Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,
Artificial intelligence is moving rapidly from research laboratories and technology companies into hospitals, clinics, and the everyday practice of medicine. The question before us is no longer simply what AI can do, but how we ensure that it improves care in ways that are clinically valuable, scientifically credible, ethically responsible, and worthy of the trust of patients and health professionals.
This challenge is at the heart of the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIMed) Global Forum.
Remarkable advances are being made in AI, yet the journey from technological innovation to safe and effective clinical practice remains difficult. Promising solutions do not always reach patients, while others may enter health care without sufficient evidence, governance, clinical integration, or understanding of their real-world impact. We believe that closing this gap requires more than technology. It requires clinicians and patients, researchers and engineers, regulators and policymakers, ethicists and legal experts, health-system leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and industry to work together.
The AIMed Global Forum is being created as a place where these perspectives meet — and where the difficult work of moving AI responsibly from code to clinic can be addressed.
The AIMed Global Forum is international by design. By connecting leading individuals and institutions across Europe and the wider world, we aim to create lasting collaborations across research, clinical practice, regulation, ethics, education, and innovation. Our ambition is for the AIMed Global Forum to become more than an annual conference: a trusted international community in which experience is shared, difficult questions are debated openly, partnerships are built, and practical approaches to responsible implementation are developed.
We believe that the future of AI in health care should not be built around technology alone. It should be built around people, evidence, trust, and better care. At the centre of this transformation must remain patients, health professionals, and the human relationships on which good medicine depends.
